narrowing my focus

Sorting through the plethora of directions I have come up with it is time to zero in on what I really want out of this process of exploring and testing. In large part I am trying to find a way to get what I want with materials that don’t want to play with each other. Adhering to my firing process and porcelain* of choice and trying to reconcile the fact that the materials I want to include don’t work so well within those parameters is a challenge. It will likely require me to make some compromises in design and materials but for now I’m trying to ignore that.

*I will be using my usual high temp gas reduction firing process because it is how I achieve the results I have worked towards for some years now. Porcelain with included wild iron and a reactive cobalt surface is just where it’s at for me and frankly, my comfort zone. It is the only ‘known’ I have at this point with this project.
