Lisa B. Evans is a ceramic artist located in Brunswick, Maine. She earned a degree in Landscape Architecture (BLA) from Texas A&M University in 1987. After earning her degree and license, Evans established a craft-based career in fiber and educational retreats. In Maine, after 20 years of a self-guided education, Evans committed herself to a full time studio practice and has recently completed a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Ceramics with the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Devoted to the use of porcelain, Evans's work has been recognized for its bold color and organic textures created with her unique use of cobalt, iron, and soft hand built forms that have an asymmetrical balance and quiet presence. That minimalist aesthetic continues in her latest body of work. She has participated in juried shows and venues throughout New England, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Crafts Show and the Farnsworth Museum 365 Gallery & Design Store in Rockland, ME. Evans is currently developing a new mixed media body of work based in porcelain, paper, wire, and glass.
